I cannot believe that it is already the end of May! It's so crazy how fast time goes by!! Well, it's that time of the month.....my favorites!!!!!!!

My Skincare Routine

I have used many different face washes in the past but I have found my (2) favorite face washes! I have used Garnier Fructis Expert Exfoliator Daily Exfoliating Gel on and off for about three years. In between using that I used the Proactiv Solution system when I had some breakouts. Over the last year I have stopped using the Proactive face wash, but still use the toner and repairing lotion. Along with the Garnier Exfoliating Gel I now use Olay Fresh Effects {Va Va Vivid} Cleansing System with Shine, Shine Go Away Cleanser (I got this in my Influenster Sweetheart Vox Box in February). The face lotion I use is L’oreal Active Daily Moisture. I have been using this moisturizer for years and have tried others but never liked one as much as this one! This moisturizer doesn’t make my skin feel yucky! I’m weird about lotions on my body (lol!).

 My skin is combination, which means parts of my face is dry and the other areas are normal and sometimes oily. It also changes from season to season. During the winter my t-zone and cheeks are dry. During the spring and fall only my t-zone gets dry. During the summer my t-zone gets dry right after washing my face and then gets oily a little after applying lotion. Since it is dry most of the time and very uncomfortable, I don’t wash it every day. I wash my face every other day. The days I don’t wash it I use the toner from proactive. Now you’re probably thinking, “Ew, how can you not wash your face every day after wearing makeup?!” Well, I don’t always wear a full face of makeup. When I do, I wash my face before bed. When I don’t have a full face of makeup on, I use my makeup wipes and then the toner. If I wash my face every day it gets really irritated and red and more dry. That routine may not work for every one but it works for me. I have blackheads on my nose, but other than that I break out here and there. I’ve been very lucky to never have bad acne and I will always be thankful for that! I’m sure if I had more acne my routine would be different. But as I said before, this works for my skin.

♡ What’s In My Travel Makeup Bag ♡

I went away for a few days at the beginning of this week so I decided to share with you what I brought with me. 

I usually bring the same products when I go away, unless I know I need something specific. I do not give myself options because if I did I would end up bringing my whole makeup collection!!! I allow myself to bring either one {or two} eye shadow palettes or 3-4 individual shadows, one blush, one bronzer, one foundation and one or two concealers. I use a few mascaras at a time, so I bring about 3 or 4 and the same goes for lip products {I usually have about 4 in my purse too! J}. I also bring an eye primer, face primer and my makeup setting spray. 

For my brushes, I bring only the ones I absolutely need so I can properly apply each product, otherwise, like with my makeup I would bring them all!

I went to a resort in the mountains in Virginia with my family and when I go there I don't usually where a lot of makeup, but I like to bring it with me just in case! Below is what I took with me!

I don't always take these exact products with me, the colors of shadows and blushes vary. I do usually take these brushes though!
